Governor declares several counties disaster areas

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has declared 16 counties, including several in Northeast Arkansas, as disaster areas

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has declared 16 counties, including several in Northeast Arkansas, as disaster areas.

The governor declared the following counties as disaster areas following the January 22, 2024, severe storms and flooding:

• Carroll
• Clark
• Conway
• Crawford
• Dallas
• Fulton
• Independence
• Izard
• Jackson
• Logan
• Madison
• Nevada
• Perry
• Sharp
• Van Buren
• Yell

In her declaration, Sanders stated that the weather event continues to “cause dangers, hardships, and suffering throughout the state.”
