Area county receives wastewater system improvements funding

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Commission has approved funds for water and wastewater projects in four Arkansas counties including one in the North Central part of the state.Marble Falls Sewer Improvement District in Newton County has received a loan for $609,614 and a grant for $1 million from the Water Sewer Solid Waste Fund program to make sewer improvements and rehabilitate the district’s wastewater system and treatment plant. The customer base for the project is 24.

A total of $47 million in funds was approved for the four counties with the projects serving more than 41,000 people. Read more.
